Source Management

ynoTV provides a robust engine for managing multiple IPTV sources. Whether you use standard playlists or premium API-based services, the application ensures a stable and high-performance streaming experience.

Adding a Source

Access the Settings panel (Key: ,) and navigate to the Sources tab to manage your providers.

M3U Playlist

1. Select Add Source > M3U Playlist.
2. Details: Provide a descriptive name and the playlist URL (or import a local .m3u file).
3. EPG: Link a separate XMLTV URL if not already embedded in the playlist headers — ynoTV auto-detects embedded EPG URLs (EPG URL detected).
4. Finalize: Click Add Source and then Sync Channels to populate your guide.

Xtream Codes

1. Select Add Source > Xtream Codes.
2. Credentials: Enter the Host URL, Username, and Password provided by your service.
3. Validation: Use the Test Connection button to verify your credentials.
4. Finalize: Click Add Source followed by Sync Channels.

Stalker Portal

1. Select Add Source > Stalker Portal.
2. Configuration: Enter the Portal URL and your specific MAC Address.
3. Authentication: ynoTV handles automatic token management for secure, persistent sessions.
4. Finalize: Click Add Source and Sync Channels.

Smart EPG URL Fallback

Every source can have additional EPG URLs as a Waterfall EPG — they fill in channels the primary EPG missed, in order. If the primary EPG doesn’t cover a channel, ynoTV moves to the next URL in the list, so guide data is as complete as possible. You can also add backup URLs for the source itself: if the primary URL fails, backups are tried in order, and a working backup automatically becomes the primary URL.

Each source also has EPG Time Offset (hours) for correcting misaligned guides, and Advanced EPG Matching (display-name based matching for external EPGs — slower but more accurate for some providers). Global guides are managed in the EPG Sources tab — see Global EPG Links below.

Global EPG Links (EPG Sources tab)

The EPG Sources tab manages Global EPG Links — EPG URLs that can be shared across multiple sources and downloaded once.

• Add / edit a link in the My Shared EPG section — name it, supply the EPG URL, and check Cache entire EPG locally to enable manual search/matching inside the EPG Editor.
• Link sources via Linked Sources — select which sources use this EPG. A global EPG only fills channels that don’t already have EPG data.
• Waterfall priority — use the up/down arrows to reorder links. Higher-priority EPGs fill first; lower ones fill the remaining gaps.
• Sync this EPG downloads it on demand, and Sync All refreshes every global EPG at once. After a successful sync each card shows its channels & programs count.
• View EPG Channels & Matches opens the Matched panel — browse All EPG Channels, search channels/matches, and inspect per-channel EPG ID (tvg-id) and matched channel info.

Because a global EPG URL is downloaded once and shared by all linked sources, providers that share a guide avoid redundant downloads.

Per-Source Sync Intervals

Each source can override the global refresh intervals:

• Custom Refresh Interval (hours) — overrides the global TV Guide refresh interval for this source (leave empty or 0 to use the global setting).
• Custom VOD Refresh Interval (hours) — overrides the global VOD refresh interval for this source.

This is useful when one provider updates its lineup frequently while others rarely change — sync the busy source often and let the quiet ones run on the global schedule. Individual Sync Channels and Sync VOD buttons also let you refresh a single source on demand.

Data Refresh

The Data Refresh tab configures when live source data is automatically refreshed on app startup — independent of the per-source overrides above.

• EPG (TV Guide) refresh — Manual only, Every 1 hour, 5 min / 30 min / 3 h / 6 h / 12 h / 24 h, Every 2 days, or Every week. Manual only disables automatic refresh entirely.
• VOD (Movies & Series) refresh — the same interval options for VOD metadata.
• Simultaneous EPG Syncs — how many sources to sync in parallel. 0 = all at once (fastest, recommended when each source is a different provider); lower numbers are gentler on the connection but slower.
• Clear Cache tools — Clear EPG Cache (program listings + channel icons + offline Global EPG caches, re-downloaded on next sync) and Clear All Cached Data (wipes all cached channel/EPG/VOD data and compacts the database to reclaim disk space — sources, settings, favorites, and playlists are preserved).

Global User-Agent

The Global User-Agent tab sets a default User-Agent string used for all LiveTV sources, both when syncing and when playing. A User-Agent defined within an individual source’s settings always overrides this global default, so the global value acts as a fallback for sources that don’t set their own.

The dropdown includes common presets (VLC, TiviMate, GSE IPTV, IPTV Smarters) plus Custom for pasting your own string.

Per-Source Logo Overrides

Beyond the global Logo Settings, each source can have its own Per-Source Overrides — override icon shape (Square vs. Rectangle/Horizontal) and background per playlist or provider. The Prefer EPG logos globally option additionally makes channels with EPG data display the matched EPG channel’s logo instead of the playlist’s.

Managing Sources

Hide / Show Disabled Sources

Use the Hide Disabled toggle at the top of the Playlist Sources list to collapse disabled sources out of the view — handy when you have many providers and want to focus on the active ones. The setting is remembered between sessions, and toggling it back reveals them again.

Default Category Picker

The Default Category picker lives in Settings → Live TV → Channels and can also target a playlist source. It lets you set which category LiveTV opens to — choose Last Opened, a specific category, a playlist source, a custom group, Favorites, Watchlist, or All Channels. See Live TV → Default Category.

Advanced Configuration

For advanced users, each source card offers deep customization:

• Priority Order: Drag and drop sources in the Settings page to define their global sort order.
• Diagnostic Tools: View real-time metadata including connection limits and provider-side expiration dates.
• Sync Scope: Mark a source LiveTV Only (skip VOD/Series sync) or VOD/Series Only (skip channel sync) to save bandwidth.

Playlist Refinement

Beyond adding sources, you can refine how content is presented:

• Filtering: Apply filter words (e.g., “US”) to strip repetitive prefixes from channel names automatically.
• Direct Editing: Right-click any source in the Live TV view to quickly jump to provider settings or category management.
• Global Sync: Use the Refresh icon to manually reload data, ensuring your guide is always up-to-date with the latest provider changes.
