Playlist Editor

The Playlist Editor is ynoTV’s full-featured tool for building your own channel lineups. Unlike Custom Groups (simple channel collections), the Playlist Editor gives you complete control over structure: you can link entire categories, merge categories from different providers, add individual channels into any category, create brand-new custom categories, organize everything into folders, and export the result as an M3U file.

Opening the Playlist Editor

Playlist Editor button — the toolbar button in the EPG view (hideable under Settings → Navigation → EPG).
+ in the Categories sidebar — the same button used for Custom Groups; create a new playlist here.
Settings → Playlists — manage and edit your playlists.

The Playlist List dialog shows all your custom playlists plus every media source, each with actions to Edit Contents, Revert to Default, Export .m3u, and (for custom playlists) rename or delete. Drag entries to reorder them in the list.

The Editor Layout

The editor has two panels:

Left: Search & Browse Sources — browse any source’s categories and channels, or search across all sources.
Right: Playlist Contents — the playlist’s categories and channels, in your chosen order.

Building Your Playlist

1. Add a Category Link

Click a category in the left panel to link the whole category into the playlist. A category link stays dynamic — it pulls the source’s current channels, so when the provider updates that category, the playlist updates with it (linked channels show as read-only). Links can be:

Renamed — give the linked category a custom name (e.g. “My Sports” instead of the provider’s name).
Hidden / Shown — declutter without removing.
Removed — unlink the category.

2. Mark a Target Category

Click the Target icon on any category in the right panel to mark it as the active target. New channels you add from the left panel land in the target category. Click Target again to unmark.

3. Add Individual Channels

Select a target category, then click a channel in the left panel (or use the ＋ Channel button) to insert it. Individual channels are kept separately from dynamic category links and can be reordered, hidden, renamed, or removed at any time.

4. Create Custom Categories

You’re not limited to the provider’s structure. Use Create Custom Category to make a brand-new category inside any source (or a custom playlist), then populate it with channels from anywhere. Custom categories behave exactly like native ones in the guide.

5. Combine Categories

The Combine action merges all channels from one category into a target category — the classic way to merge “News” from three different providers into a single “All News” category. Select the target (Target icon), then combine the source categories into it.

6. Organize with Folders

Keep a long playlist tidy with category folders:

Create Folder — name it (e.g. “USA”, “Sports”, “News”).
Assign categories to a folder with the Folder dropdown on any category.
Rename / Delete folders anytime (deleting a folder just returns its categories to the root level).

7. Reorder

Drag the ⋮⋮ handles to reorder categories in the playlist and channels within each category. Your custom order is saved and used everywhere the playlist appears.

Reverting a Source

If you’ve customized a source playlist and want a clean slate, Revert to Default removes all custom-added categories and channels and resets the category ordering back to the provider’s original state.

Exporting to M3U

Export .m3u writes the playlist to a standard M3U file — including all your modifications:

Disabled / hidden channels and categories stay excluded.
Custom sort order is preserved.
Edited EPG data (TVG-IDs, logos, custom programs) is included.
Works for M3U, Xtream, and custom playlists.

The exported file can be re-imported into ynoTV or used in any other player that reads M3U.
