DVR & Recording
ynoTV includes a high-performance Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system, allowing you to archive live streams for later viewing without quality loss.

- Right-click any upcoming program in the EPG.
- Select Schedule Recording.
- You can choose to record a Single Episode or create a recurring schedule for a Series.
For specific time blocks:
- Right-click any channel in the list.
- Select Schedule Recording.
- Manually define the start time and duration.
Recording Management
Section titled “Recording Management”Access the DVR Dashboard (Key: R) to view active, scheduled, and completed recordings.
Start/End Padding
Section titled “Start/End Padding”To ensure you never miss the beginning or end of a program (common in live sports), you can adjust “Padding” for any scheduled recording:
- Start Padding: Extra time recorded before the official start.
- End Padding: Extra time recorded after the official end.
These can be adjusted globally in Settings or on a per-recording basis via the DVR Page.
Record Until Stop
Section titled “Record Until Stop”When starting a Quick Record, you can choose Record until Stop instead of a fixed duration — the recording runs until you stop it manually from the DVR dashboard (shown as “Recording until you stop it” while active).
Custom Titles
Section titled “Custom Titles”Every recording dialog lets you set a custom Recording title, so you can name recordings whatever makes sense to you instead of using the default program/channel name.
Active Controls
Section titled “Active Controls”While a recording is in progress, you can monitor its status via the dashboard or stop it manually at any time. Completed files are stored in your configured recording path and can be played directly through the ynoTV interface.
Storage & Cleanup
Section titled “Storage & Cleanup”Storage Locations
Section titled “Storage Locations”Under Settings → DVR:
- Storage Location — where recorded videos are saved (required for recording to work).
- Downloads Location — where downloaded videos/VODs are saved (or Ask every time if you’d rather choose per download).
- Organize Downloads into Subfolders — saves Movies and Series into separate
MoviesandSeriesfolders inside the download location.
Auto-Cleanup
Section titled “Auto-Cleanup”Storage Management prevents your drive from filling up:
- Auto-Cleanup — automatically deletes the oldest recordings to enforce disk space quotas.
- Max Disk Usage Threshold — cleanup starts when the recording drive’s total usage exceeds this limit.
- Keep Recordings For — keep recordings indefinitely (until space is needed) or for a set number of days.
Auto-Convert
Section titled “Auto-Convert”Auto-Convert Recordings automatically converts completed recordings to MP4 or MKV using FFmpeg (lossless stream copy), or keep the original .ts files.
Deleting Recordings
Section titled “Deleting Recordings”When you delete a recording from the DVR dashboard, you choose what happens:
- Delete from disk — removes the recording file from your hard drive. This cannot be undone.
- Remove from list only — removes the entry from the DVR dashboard but keeps the file on disk, so you can re-add or keep it as a file elsewhere.
