ynoTV’s search engine is designed for speed, allowing you to filter through thousands of channels and Electronic Program Guide (EPG) entries in milliseconds.

Search Mechanics

Quick Access

Press the default search key (S) to instantly focus the search input in the title bar.

Scope of Search

ynoTV indexes the following data for real-time results:

• Channel Names: Matches against all active provider channel lists.
• EPG Data: Scans current and upcoming program titles and descriptions.

Visibility Filters

Your global search results respect your privacy and organization settings. Any sources, categories, or individual channels that you have disabled in Settings will not appear in search results.

Results Tabs

Search results are organized into three tabs:

Tab	What it shows
Channels	Matching channels, displayed in the same style as the Live TV channel list
Live Now EPG	Currently airing programs that match your query, with time remaining, start/end times, and a progress bar showing how far the program is through its slot
Upcoming EPG	Future programs matching your query, with their start and end times

EPG tabs only appear when your query matches program data — a pure channel query shows just the Channels tab.

Advanced Search

Click the search icon at the end of the search bar to open Advanced Search, giving you precise control over what gets searched:

• Search Term — your query (at least 2 characters).
• Search In — Channels, EPG Only, or Both.
• Sources & Categories — restrict the search to specific sources and/or categories instead of everything enabled.
• Use these settings for regular title bar searches — apply the same scope to the regular search bar, so you don’t have to open Advanced Search every time.

Tip

Search is case-insensitive and supports partial matching, allowing you to find “BBC One” simply by typing “bbc”. Multi-word queries are matched intelligently, and full support for Cyrillic and other non-Latin scripts (including accent folding and transliteration) means “perviy” matches “Первый”.

Search Results Limit

Customize the maximum number of search results displayed to match your preferences:

Configuration Path : Navigate to Settings → Channels → Max search results

Default Value : The system is pre-configured with a limit of 1000 results.

Adjustment Options : Increase or decrease this threshold based on your source volume and browsing preferences (capped at 5000). Results are virtualized, so even large values stay smooth. The same limit applies to channel search, custom group search, and the calendar channel selector.
